The Ministry of Education has issued a notice to all schools on Thursday (13 July) regarding the periods of girl students. It has been said that during the 10th and 12th board exams, girl students suffering from periods should be given necessary restroom breaks. Apart from this, free sanitary napkins should be kept for them in all examination centers.

According to the information, the Ministry of Education has issued an advisory for all the schools of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) in all the states and union territories. It has been said that menstrual hygiene management is very important for the overall development of any girl. Her academic performance should not be affected due to this.
Education Ministry gave this order
The Ministry of Education has said that during the 10th and 12th board exams, sanitary pads should be provided free of cost in all examination centers. Also, if necessary, girls should be allowed to use necessary hygiene products during the exam. If girl students want to use the restroom for menstrual needs, they should also be allowed to do so, so that they do not face any kind of problem and their focus remains on studies during the exam.

According to the information, the advisory issued by the Ministry of Education states that educational programs will be conducted to increase awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among girl students, teachers and staff. Its aim is to eliminate the taboo of periods and promote a more understanding environment in school. The ministry has emphasized on treating girl students with respect regarding their menstrual needs. Also, the importance of maintaining the confidence of girls and empowering them during examinations has been promoted.
